Ball Ab Exercise Tips
Doing ball ab exercise and fitness workouts is a great way for anyone to build up core stability and strengthen the ab muscles. The beauty of ball ab exercise, and ball exercises in general is that they are a truly fun, low-impact way of getting into shape, using your own body as resistance to slim down and tone up. So what should you bear in mind when doing ball ab exercises? We're drawn up a list of ball ab exercise tips you need to remember when doing your fitness ball workouts.
Firstly, always ensure you are following the exercise instruction appropriately. Bad habits can develop, leading to the arching of the back or the bending of the knees where this is expressly not required. This can lead to injury and will sap the efficiency out of the exercises you are doing, which will in the end be a waste of time and energy. Make sure you know what you're supposed to be doing, and consult instructional materials from time to time to make sure you're still performing the right movements.
The next ball ab exercise tip you want to bear in mind is to keep the ball sufficiently inflated. Your fitness ball will lose air the more you use it, leading to a gradual deflation. You should counteract this by re-inflating your ball as necessary, to ensure it remains sufficiently bouncy to facilitate your workout program. If your ball loses too much air, it will lose the properties necessary to make it an effective exercise aid, thus it's important to make sure your ball is full inflated where possible.
You should also remember that when doing any ball ab exercise, it is important to stretch your muscles, and to both warm up and cool down at either end of your workout. This is vital in preventing injury, and is a great way to make sure you get the most from your efforts on the ball.
